Sydney Thunder Women vs Adelaide Strikers Women
Adelaide Strikers Women won by 26 runs
The Strikers won with such energy! In some style, they achieved their goal of qualifying for a home semi-final here! WBBL bowler Megan Schutt picked up the best ever figures for a bowler in the tournament. Thus, she finished with 6/19 in just four overs, which was a good result. During the process of picking up 2/20, Deandra Dottin provided her with excellent assistance.
There was a familiar story playing out for the Thunder as they were once again unable to handle the pressure and capitulated. As they raced off to a flyer from Tammy Beaumont, they had a really good start. Their chase never got going because they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. A fairy tale ended when Rachel Haynes was dismissed for 6 and failed to lead her team to victory as a result of her dismissal. Eventually, the Thunder lost 3 wickets in Megan Schutt's 17th over of the match, and once that happened, there was no way they were going to be able to catch up with the top order.
Overall, the Strikers were able to pull off a great win, as they now move on to the semi-finals with strength within them. She can be incredibly proud of her achievements during a career that spanned 13 years, and she can be very proud of what she has accomplished.
