Women's Big Bash League 2022 Match 14

Women's Big Bash League 2022 Match 14 by 11ic

In the 14th Women's Big Bash League 2022, It has been announced that Sydney Thunder Women will play Perth Scorchers Women. It's been a successful start for the Perth Scorchers Women in their defense of the WBBL trophy, winning three of their first three matches. In all three matches, their bowling attack has stepped up, and Beth Mooney has batted well. During the WBBL 2022 season, the Thunder have not won a game. In their chasing of victory, they will rely on Amy Jones and Lea Tahuhu. It will be a competitive contest at the WACA, unlike the reverse fixture, which saw the Perth Scorchers Women defeat the Sydney Thunder Women.

As Sophie Devine and then Beth Mooney was leaving the field, it was clear that the Perth Scorchers Women were not going to be able to hold on to the game. In the middle-order, Marizanne Kapp tried to salvage the situation, but Lauren Smith came into the picture and picked up a five-for to put the game to bed. Alana King and Holly Ferling had a six-hitting contest in the final over, but the game had already been lost. Getting the women in orange off to a good start was Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney. Sophie Devine, who was trying to maul a full toss away from Sammy-Jo Johnson, skied it and was dismissed at midwicket. In quick succession, Chloe Piparo and Mooney left the field, Mooney attempting to take on the left-arm spinner and hitting it straight into Porter's hands at short midwicket. As a result of the Scorchers' top-order being blown away, they attempted to claw their way back into the game, but wickets at regular intervals meant that Marizanne Kapp ran out of partners, and she was unable to form a partnership that could last. She kept going, challenging the required rate, until she ended up hitting a delivery down leg into the fielder's hands. Piepa Cleary tried to keep the contest alive, but it wasn't enough, and the Sydney Thunder Women coasted to victory by 25 runs.
