India vs New Zealand 2022 3rd ODI

India vs New Zealand 2022 3rd ODI by 11ic

In the third and final One-Day International of the three-match series, India will square off against New Zealand. India has batted first so far on both occasions. Despite making a fifty, Shikhar Dhawan was unsuccessful in the second ODI. On both occasions, Shubman Gill appeared to be in good form, and Suryakumar Yadav briefly demonstrated his capacity for destruction in this format. Whether players like Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, and Shreyas Iyer will be selected for the World Cup is up for debate. Therefore, each of them has a chance to make their case more persuasive now. Given that India did not get to bowl on Sunday, not much has changed in the bowling department. Expect them to maintain the bowling lineup from Sunday, which included Deepak Chahar, who is making his comeback after yet another injury layoff, and Umran Malik, who made an excellent first impression.

On the other hand, New Zealand would prefer a few more runs from their top order, and especially their openers. In recent games, Finn Allen has blown more cold than hot. Kane Williamson and Tom Latham have had to carry the load because Devon Conway has also experienced an uncharacteristic rough patch. The Kiwi captain appears to be back to scoring runs, but New Zealand would prefer one of their openers to bat later in the innings. They have plenty of firepower as well, with Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, and James Neesham making up a potent middle order. They have so far brilliantly compensated for Trent Boult's departure with the ball. The tidy Tim Southee has been at his best. On Sunday, Matt Henry wasn't too bad either. While any cricket match can be broken open by Lockie Ferguson.

As a result, just like the series opener, this final ODI is extremely difficult to predict. Each team has its advantages and disadvantages. There are also predicted showers, which means that this match may once again end in chaos brought on by the rain, as it did in the previous two games.

The game has been abandoned due to rain

The game has been abandoned. If the game had taken place, New Zealand would have easily made it 2-0 because they had a 104-1 lead. However, the rain once again interfered, ruining the fun. On this wicket, India scored below-par, and before New Zealand changed their strategy, they adopted a cautious stance. While Devon Conway, who struggled against Arshdeep Singh's opening spell, was performing at his best, Finn Allen was riding his luck. Conway found his rhythm after hitting Deepak Chahar for four boundaries in one over, and Finn Allen's brilliant six brought up his half-century. Before the rain came, Umran Malik broke the opening stand. The match was called off by the umpires 50 minutes before the deadline even though we were two overs away from the outcome. This was due to the steady rain that had been falling.
