The 2022 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier was held to start last September, 2022. This 5th edition of the Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier will serve as the qualification for the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Tournament.
Before the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier starts 4 warm up matches was held first last September 16, 2022.
The 1st warm up match was a battled between Ireland women's cricket team and Papua New Guinea women's national cricket team, where Ireland women's won the match by 37 runs.
For the 2nd Warm up match , Thailand national women's cricket team beats United States women's cricket team after winning the match by 64 runs.
Zimbabwe women's national cricket team and Scotland women's national cricket team battled for the 3rd warm up match, where Zimbabwe women's won the match by 9 runs.
And the last Warm up match , was a battle between Bangladesh women's national cricket team against United Arab Emirates women's national cricket team where Bangladesh women's made a victory and won the match by 54 runs.
The ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier teams will battle the Group Stage before reaching the Play Offs.
The 8 teams who qualified in this tournament is divided in 2 group to play the Group Stage.
Group A , will be Bangladesh Women, Scotland , Ireland and United States. While in Group B, Zimbabwe, Thailand, Papua New Guinea and United Arab Emirates Women’s are included.
Group Stage:
Group A
The 1st to battle in Group A is Bangladesh women's national cricket team and Ireland women's cricket team , where Bangladesh women got a chance to win 1st in the tournament by 14 runs last September 18, 2022.
The next match in Group A is between Scotland women's national cricket team and United States women's cricket team where Scotland women's won the match by 79 runs on the same day.
The 3rd match in Group A was held last September 19, 2022 where Bangladesh Women made their second victory and made them to qualify in Play offs after winning against Scotland Women’s by 6 wickets.
On the same day, United States women's cricket team and Ireland women's cricket team battled for the 4th match in Group A , where Ireland Women got their 1st win after beating United States women by 9 wickets.
The last 2 match for Group A , will held on September 21, 2022.
Even, Bangladesh women's national cricket team is already qualified to the playoffs match , they still need to battle against the United States women's cricket team in the 5th match of this Group Stage.
While on the 6th match , Ireland Women and Scotland Women will be the last team to battle for group A of Group stage match.
