Caribbean Premier League 2022 Qualifier 1

Caribbean Premier League 2022 Qualifier 1 by 11ic

On the Qualifier 1 of Caribbean Premier League 2022 Barbados Royals take on a head-to-head match against Guyana Amazon Warriors. Despite a slow start, the Guyana Amazon Warriors turned the tables in their home opener. During the regular season, they won four home games in order to qualify for the playoffs. As a team, they finished second, winning five of their ten games during the league stage. During the same time frame, the Barbados Royals have had a stellar season. A total of eight of their ten games were wins, which put them at the top of the table. In spite of that, both of their losses came against the Guyana Amazon Warriors, which they intend to avenge. As part of their last league game, the Guyana Amazon Warriors bowled out the Royals for 125 runs in 15 overs before romping home. It will be the Warriors' third game in a row against the Barbados Royals this season after winning both games against them this year. While the Barbados Royals prepare to seek revenge and qualify for the final, they will be eager to get their revenge.

Barbados Royals win by 87 runs. The way the run-chase started, it never felt like they were aiming for the finish line. It was only Rahmanullah Gurbaz who could have set the pace for the chase, but his dismissal early squandered any chances of it being a successful chase. The required rate of over 10 an over had increased significantly by the time Chandrapaul Hemraj and Shai Hope were able to read the wicket. The wickets flew when hope finally took on the bowling from Simmonds, but the fielder was then smashed by an absolute jaffa from him. It was left to Hetmyer and the rest of the line-up to salvage things from an extremely adverse situation following the return of Shakib and Hemraj. There was some promise in Keemo Paul, but he ended up leaving the tea m three months after he joined. To cap off a memorable day for himself and his team, Rahkeem Cornwall followed up his game-defining 91 off 54 with two more scalps in quick succession. Despite the fact that Odean Smith was still to come, he was not able to make a significant impact. The crowd started to flock out of the stadium after Hetmyer claimed the wicket. A spirited team effort was built up between Junior Sinclair and Imran Tahir, numbers 10 and 11, until Harry Tector came to the rescue with a brilliant catch on the boundary.

In the Caribbean islands, the carnival of T20 cricket is nearing its conclusion after 30 matches and the announcement of the national side for the T20 World Cup. As a team, we've had an incredible season so far, and the playoffs shouldn't disappoint.
