Bangladesh Premier League 2023 2nd Qualifier Round by 11ic

In the second Bangladesh Premier League Qualifier, the Sylhet Strikers and Rangpur Riders will square off. With a sizable victory over Fortune Barishal and a comfortable margin of four wickets, Rangpur Riders enter this crucial match on a high note. Their bowling team didn't perform well at all. In 20 overs, they let 170 runs slip. With two wickets in three overs and 23 runs batted against him, Dasun Shanaka was their only productive bowler. In addition to his excellent performance, Rakibul Hasan also took one wicket in four overs while giving up 32 runs in that same amount of time. The bowlers who were unsuccessful in getting any wickets were Mahedi Hasan, DJ Bravo, Hasan Mahmud, and Mujeeb ur Rahman. The previous game was won by Rangpur Riders thanks to the best and most exceptional show by their batting rank. They consumed 19 point three overs to reach the 171 run target. The team's victory was largely attributed to Shamim Hossain. He was their most productive and highest run-scorer. With the assist of four limits and the same two enormous sixes, he scored 71 runs in 51 balls.Additionally, Rony Talukdar displayed excellent batting skills, scoring 29 runs. He faced 17 balls and hit the same massive sixes and two boundaries. Dasun Shanaka was still in the game after scoring 15 runs, while Rony Talukdar and the captain, Nurul Hasan, each scored 18 runs.

After losing to Comilla Victorians in their previous match, Sylhet Strikers are under pressure to win this one at all costs. Despite having a very strong batting order, this team only managed to score 125 runs, completely falling short of expectations. In 17.1 overs, the entire team returned to the pavilion. With 38 runs in his account, Najmul Hossain Shanto was their leading run scorer. He smashed four boundaries and one enormous six in 29 balls faced. Mortaza only managed to score 26 runs, while Mushfiqur Rahim managed to score 29 runs. Key batsmen for Sylhet Strikers include Ryan Burl, Towhid Hridoy, Zakir Hasan and Shafiqullah Ghafari. Despite this, none of these players performed to their full potential or scored any significant runs. Inability to open an account on the scoreboard was shared by Towhid Hridoy, Isuru Udana, Rubel and Ryan Burl. The Sylhet Strikers' bowling unit did not perform to its full potential and could not hold a low target. In 16+4 overs, they allowed the 126 run target to be reached. The player who took the most wickets for them, Rubel Hossain, also gave up a lot of runs. In 3 1/4 overs against 33 runs, he claimed three wickets. One wicket each was picked up by Shafiqullah Ghafari and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.

Rangpur Riders vs Sylhet Strikers

Rangpur had the game in hand when it headed into the final four overs, but they was not able to maintain their composure, and the Sylhet Strikers snatched it out of their grasp. They were in a winning position thanks to some excellent play from Rony Talukdar and captain Nurul Hasan. The equation became very difficult because the duo left in back-to-back overs. Prior to being caught in the deep, Nicholas Pooran entertained the crowd with a dazzling cameo of 30 runs.

The Sylhet bowlers were hit, but they rebounded and did it in style. With figures of 2/19 in four overs, young Tanzim displayed incredible resilience under pressure. Mashrafe Mortaza should be commended for the effective rotation of his bowlers. Due to his penultimate over, which altered the game's outcome, Luke Wood displayed exceptional ball control. Early on, he was costly, but he maintained his composure to recover well and pick up 3 wickets for 33 runs. Not to mention the game-changing performance of interim goalkeeper Zakir, who forced Rony Talukdar to leave the field.

Now that the tournament are over, we can look back on this game as an out-and-out thriller. In the end, the Sylhet Strikers were the rightful champions, and they will play in the championship game alongside the Comilla Victorians.

2nd Qualifier Round of The Bangladesh Premier League 2023 happened at The Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
