Let us know more about the 2023 Indian Premier League Team Captain that will lead their teams.
Ms Dhoni - Chennai Super Kings
In the 2021 league season, MS Dhoni earned another accomplishment to his résumé as CSK won their fourth championship. MS Dhoni was one of the four players the franchise kept before the 2022 league season, and the franchise paid him INR 12 crore. MS Dhoni is a powerful batsman who can dismantle various bowling combinations by himself.
His calm attitude and brilliant cricketing mind make for a lethal combination on the field. The gleaming trophies in the trophy cases at CSK are a testament to his exceptional leadership abilities.
Over the league's first eight seasons, he served as the face of the Chennai Super Kings, helping them to two championships (in 2010 and 2011) and four runners-up results. He became the first Player selected by Rising Pune Supergiant in the league's ninth season. And, once more, he was the first Player retained by CSK before the 2018 IPL Player Auction.
The Chennai Super Kings added another dazzling trophy to their collection as the league's 2018 season came to a stunning end. Under the direction of MS Dhoni, the CSK also made it to the league finals in the 2019 season. MS Dhoni retired after a 16-year, brilliant career with Team India, but he was spotted wearing the CSK colors again in 2020.
Rishabh Pant - Delhi Capitals
One of the three players retained by Delhi before the 2018 auction was the swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, and he paid it back with a season in which he scored nearly 700 runs. Although he did not earn the IPL Orange Cap, his batting was a strength for the Delhi Capitals, who kept the young Player for the following two seasons, including the IPL 2020.
He has participated in around 2500 IPL innings and has scored 115 runs of fifty or more. The young player is heading into this round of the competition after a stellar run of play for his country, and he hopes to continue that success with Delhi Capitals.
Hardik Pandya - Gujarat Titans
Hardik Pandya's immense self-belief makes him different from other young cricketers. The flamboyant Baroda all-rounder doesn't allow pressure to hinder his performance; instead, he enjoys them. Hardik checks all the boxes a club wants in an all-round player: he is a powerful batter and a quick bowler. His rapid inclusion into the Indian ODI and T20 team following a solid showing in the 2015 IPL was not unexpected. He smashed a six against RCB in his first IPL game after only facing two balls.
His true talent was seen when he helped Mumbai Indians win against CSK with a quick-fire eight-ball 21 at the end of the team's two overs requiring 30 runs. He has since been a vital component of the Mumbai Indians lineup. But this year will mark his first season in that role for the Gujarat Titans, a brand-new team. With a solid balance of youth and experience, Hardik will be the team's captain. His all-around skills are well-known, but how will he run this new franchise? Time will tell. Only time.
Shreyas Iyer - Kolkata Knight Riders
The Kolkata Knight Riders wanted a captain when they entered the TATA IPL 2022 Auction. On the day of the auction, the franchise made all effort to secure the services of Indian batter Shreyas Iyer for a staggering INR 12.25 Crore. He was soon appointed team captain because it was their highest bid in the auction.
Shreyas Iyer, a seasoned player for the Indian national team and his last IPL franchise, will be eager to make an impression as captain of the purple and gold. KKR would be pinning their hopes on Shreyas to lead the team to a title triumph as the team finished as runners-up in the 2021 season. Shreyas is a young batter and a young skipper leading a young squad.
KL Rahul - Lucknow Super Giants
As the team attempts to get things started and leave their imprint in their inaugural IPL season, the fans of the Lucknow Super Giants, the IPL's newest franchise, will place their hopes in this man. KL Rahul, one of the best batters of the contemporary age, was selected by LSG in a draft and became their captain.
Rahul, who previously led Punjab Kings, will now have a different group of players. However, he still intends to take the initiative and motivate his new teammates to perform at their highest level. KL Rahul has scored more than 3200 runs in the IPL, with his most recent run totals from the previous four seasons being 626, 670, 593, and 659. The record for the highest score achieved by an Indian batsman in the IPL is also held by the elegant but destructive right-hander. He has supported the Indian squad in all forms, and when he steps onto the field for LSG, that support will continue.
Rohit Sharma - Mumbai Indians
Captain Marvellous. Rohit Sharma has cemented his reputation as the IPL's most successful captain with five championships. This is a record for the competition. MI is now the most reliable team because he has broken the code. The Hitman, one of the most naturally gifted batters in the game and a prolific run-getter, has been on a tear lately. Few competitors can match his mighty powers in the shorter format.
Rohit became the first batsman in ODI history to score two double centuries, and he now has three, demonstrating why he is considered a player of exceptional quality. Throughout the first three IPL seasons, he was one of the most reliable hitters for the Deccan Chargers, and his contribution to his old team's championship in 2009 was crucial. But, since 2011, Rohit has played an essential role in leading the Mumbai Indians' batting lineup. A few games into the 2013 campaign, he took over as team captain and guided MI to their first IPL championship. MI also accomplished a grand slam when they won the Champions League T20 championship that same year.
After the squad lost five of their first six games and had trouble staying afloat, his leadership was tested in 2015. The Mumbai Indians then pulled off an incredible comeback, winning the Trophy easily in the championship game for the second time. Rohit, who reached 50 runs, was honored as the game's MVP. After helping Mumbai Indians win championships in the 2017 and 2019 seasons, both last-ball games, Hitman's legacy continued to grow.
Under Rohit's direction, the Mumbai Indians captured their second consecutive title in 2020. MI will be ready after missing out on the playoffs in the 14th season. He is now back as Team India's permanent captain across all three game types.
Shikhar Dhawan - Punjab Kings
Shikhar "Gabbar" Dhawan, the standout opener for India, returned to his birthplace in 2019 to help the Delhi Capitals' batting line after performing consistently since the IPL's first season. Dhawan, who formerly dominated the game with the bat, relocated to PBKS after being acquired by the team for INR 8.25 Crore at the TATA IPL 2022 auction. With 5784 runs to his name thanks to 234 half-centuries, Dhawan, a reliable run scorer in the competition, is the second-highest run-scorer in IPL history.
The swashbuckling left-hander will be vital to PBKS' success because of the abundance of experience he has under his belt and the significant number of runs to his credit.
Sanju Samson - Rajasthan Royals
Sanju Samson made a name for himself during his first season with the Rajasthan Royals by scoring challenging runs. Rahul Dravid developed the Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman into a tenacious campaigner. He joined the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) team in 2016 and spent two seasons there, playing vital pivotal innings for the team before returning to the Rajasthan Royals. Sanju amassed 342 runs in the IPL 2019 before adding 375 runs in the IPL 2020.
He was moved to a senior position when he was selected as captain for the 2021 campaign. One can look for an improved show from this team now that he is in his second season as the alpha male and has been joined by several seasoned seniors.
Faf du Plessis - Royal Challengers Bangalore
The outgoing RCB captain, Virat Kohli, announced that Faf du Plessis would take over as the team's new captain on March 12, 2022. Faf du Plessis, representing the RCB in the league in 2022, will have a brand-new setup and new team colors. At the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, the RCB paid INR 7 crore to get the seasoned South African hitter. With the CSK, Faf du Plessis began his IPL career and has played for them ever since.
The right-handed batter had a crucial hit in the league's 2021 championship game, scoring 86 runs off just 59 deliveries and earning Player of the Match honors. In 2018, Punjab Kings paid INR 1.6 crore for Faf, but CSK outbid them using their RTM card, making it a great deal for them. Du Plessis was selected for the RPS team in the IPL player draft but did not see much action. Instead, he played regularly for CSK, where he had a very successful rookie season by hitting 398 runs.
He made an impression by scoring a half-century against India in his ODI debut, and soon after that, he was named to South Africa's World Cup roster. Du Plessis has dispelled the label of a limited-overs specialist with a century on his Test debut against Australia. Although batting continues to be du Plessis' forte, he has a few valuable leg-spinners when needed. He is also a livewire on the field, which completes the ideal T20 package for any skipper.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad has yet to announce who will play a role to be their captain.
In the 2023 Indian Premier League, who will lead SunRisers Hyderabad?
Kane Williamson, the former captain of SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), was discharged, and the team's supporters are eager to learn who will take his place.
Aiden Markram, who now leads Sunrisers Eastern Cape, is a strong candidate to captain SRH in the 2023 Indian Premier League.
Ravichandran Ashwin, an off-spinner for the Indian side, projected that Markram would captain Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2023 Indian Premier League after he scored 366 runs in 12 matches while leading Sunrisers Eastern Cape to win in the inaugural SA20.
He is skilled not just at batting but also at bowling. The off-spinner had 11 wickets while playing for Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
As one of the anticipated leagues is near to start, who among these ten teams will get a chance to win the title?
Who's your bet?
